Lotte Shawl



Material;
Scheepjes, Linen Soft
- 2 skeins of color 629, 2 skeins of color 622, 2 skeins of color 630, 1 skeins of color 616, 1 skeins of color 613, 2 skeins of color 620, 1 skeins of color 618, 1 skeins of color 619
- Or 9 skeins of color 608 or a different color if you like
Crochet hook ; 4 mm
Gauge; 16 dc en 9 rows = 10 – 10 inch. When needed take a thinner or larger hook.
Size after blocking; 1 panel is about 60” long and 20” wide.


Used stitches ( British English);




 Chart 1.
Start with color 622
Chain 98 and start in the second chain from hook. Now follow chart 1 or the written instructions below.
But if you follow the chart, please read the instruction below because of the color changes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Row 1
; dc in each chain across (= 97 dc), turn
Row 2; ch9, [skip ch5, dtc1, ch5] 14 more times, dtc in last stitch, turn
Row 3; ch1, dc on each ch and dtc across (=97 dc), turn


Switch to color 630
Row 4; ch3, tc in each dc across, turn
Row 5; ch8, skip first 6 tc, tc in next tc, *ch5, skip next 5tc, tc in next tc *, repeat from * to * across, ending with last tc in 3rd ch of turning ch, turn
Row 6; ch6, dc in next ch-5 space, ch3, tc in next tc, *ch3, dc in next ch-5 space, ch3, tc in next tc*, repeat from * to * across, ending with last tc in 3rd ch of turning ch, turn
Row 7; ch8, tc in next tc, *ch5, tc in next tc *, repeat from * to * across, ending with last tc in 3rd ch of turning ch, turn
Row 8; ch3, tc in each ch and tc across, turn
Row 9 – 12; repeat row 5 – 8 one more time
Crochet according to list below;

 Chart 2.


Cast on color 629 (see chart above). Crochet in the side of the rows of the  first part of the shawl. ch1, dc2, after each comma go to next row, dc4, dc1, [dc3, dc3, dc2, dc3, dc2, dc3, dc2, dc3, dc3, dc1, dc4, dc1] repeat 2 times more, (=97 dc)
Row 2; ch9, [skip ch5, dtc1, ch5] 14 more times, dtc in last stitch, turn
Row 3; ch1, dc on each ch and dtc across (=97 sc), turn

And continue with crocheting according list below;
Switch to Color 618 Repeat row 4 t/m 12
Switch to Color 622 Repeat row 1 t/m 3
Switch to Color 620 Repeat row 4 t/m 12
Switch to Color 629 Repeat row 1 t/m 3
Switch to Color 613 Repeat row 4 t/m 12
Switch to Color 622 Repeat row 1 t/m 3
Switch to Color 616 Repeat row 4 t/m 12
Switch to Color 629 Repeat row 1 t/m 3
Switch to Color 630 Repeat row 4 t/m 12
Switch to Color 622 Repeat row 1 t/m 3, don’t cut thread but crochet another row with all dc in each dc, but crochet in every 16th dc 2 dc (= 102 dc)

Continue with chart 3 or:
Row 1 ; ch3, tc in each of next 2 stitches, *ch 9, skip next 6ch, tc in each of next 3 ch *, repeat from * to * across, turn
Row 2 ; ch3, tc in each of next 2 tc, *ch3, dc in next ch-9 space, ch3, tc in each of next 3tc*, repeat from * to * across, ending with last tc in 3rd ch of turning ch, turn
Row 3 ; ch3, tc in each of next 2 tc, * ch4, skip next ch-3 space, dc in next dc, ch4, skip next ch-3 space, tc in each of next 3 tc*, repeat from * to * across, ending with last tc in 3rd ch of turning ch, turn
Row 4 ; ch3, tc in each of next 2 stitches, *ch 9, skip next 6ch, tc in each of next 3 ch *, repeat from * to * across, ending with last tc in 3rd ch of turning ch, turn
Row 5 - 7 ; repeat row 2 - 4
Row 8 ; ch4, *puff st in first tc, (ch1, picot, puff st) in each of next 2 tc, ch3, sc in next ch-9 space, ch3*, repeat from * to * across, puff st in next tc, [ch1, picot, puff st] twice.


 Chart 3.

Now return to the first half of your shawl, the longest side.
Cast on color 629 and crochet in the side of the rows of the  first part of the shawl. ch1, dc2, after each comma go to next row, dc4, dc1, [dc3, dc3, dc2, dc3, dc2, dc3, dc2, dc3, dc3, dc1, dc4, dc1] repeat 8 times more, (=277 dc)
Row 1 ; crochet dc on each of next dc across, but halfway crochet 2 dc together. (= 276 dc)!!
Row 2 ;
ch4, skip first 2 dc, * tc in each of next 2 dc, ch1, skip next dc*, repeat from * to * acroos to within last dc, tc in last dc, turn
Row 3 ; ch1, dc in first tc, ch2, [tc2, ch2, dc1] in each ch-1 space across.


 Chart 4.


Weave in all the ends and soak shawl for 20 minutes in cool water. Roll in towel to get rid of excess moisture. Pin out on blocking board. Leave to dry and unpin, only when dry.Your shawl is ready.
